Solo Exhibit - Climbing Fences - May 4 to May 29, 2022 In Person Exhibition

Drawing Inspiration

The movement of colour the gestural lines of objects within nature they create a rhythm in the land. These elements and how the light moves over them is where I draw my inspiration. Inspired and mystified by nature my thoughts and feelings are interpreted through paint, ink and words. My work can often be accompanied by written observations, ideas or poems formed while creating the work. My intention is to provide the viewer with the possibility of a previously unknown observation.

CLIMBING FENCES NEW EXHIBIT

I am having a new exhibit this May at Colborne Street Gallery in Fennelon Falls, Ontario. The exhibit, Climbing Fences encourages the viewer to explore how we view nature. Where some answers are obscured or dreams discovered. Where what we see has deeper meaning then what we see, and perhaps it is at these edges we can meet and see things in a new way.

Bring the Outside Inside

There is a Hill

An acrylic painting from The Lost and Found Project 3ft x 4ft. This painting was inspired by the idea that there is something just over the hill to find or attain.

Time well Spent

A reductive Lino block print inspired from a friends photo of a very well used chair on the beach in Nova Scotia, how many sittings it has seen no one knows.

Talk to Others

Another acrylic painting from The Lost and Found Project. The poem that accompanied this piece is.
I am told you talk to others through your roots, like we do.

When you're Lost and Found

This exhibition’s idea came from the end results of actually getting lost and found by Search and Rescue in a forest area in Ontario. The guest of wolves an owl, snow and a full moon to guide you in your solitude. Resulting in the loss of how I viewed myself and the environment and finding new perspectives for both. The paintings are accompanied with writings that I have written providing the viewer with the possibility of seeing unknown observations for themselves.

This exhibition’s idea came from the end results of actually getting lost and found by Search and Rescue in a forest area in Ontario. It is a perspective changing experience spending hours in the dark, an unexpected ill prepared guest of wolves an owl, snow flurries and a full moon to guide you in your solitude. Paintings that resulted are accompanied with writings that I have written as a result of the journey of being lost and found.
